COMMENT     HPV-44 DNA was first isolated from a vulvar condyloma.
            The cloned DNA was provided by Dr. A. Lorincz and was subsequently
            sequenced by Dr. H. Delius over the L1 MY09/MY11 segment.  HPV-43
            and the several other types sequenced by Dr. Delius over this region
            were used as type-specific probes to screen DNA for novel genital 
            HPV types.  The screened DNA was obtained from four recent 
            epidemiological studies.  Primer regions are annotated in the
            sequence; information in this region is not accurate due to primer
            degeneracy.
