Infect. Dis. (1994) In press. XX XX Created by HPV database on 21-APR-1995 from GenBank: U12503. XX XX HPV-29 was originally isolated from a skin wart. Subsequent XX tests failed to detect it in cutaneous wart specimens from 119 XX patients, including both butchers and immunosuppressed patients. XX These latter were included in the study on the basis of HPV-29's XX similarity to members of the group including HPV-10 and HPV-3, XX which are frequently detected in such patients. It thus seems XX to be a relatively uncommon member of this group (Favre et al. XX J. Virol. 63, 4906). XX XX Cloned HPV-29 DNA was obtained from the Papillomavirus Reference XX Center, Heidelberg and subsequently sequenced by Dr. H. Delius over XX the L1 MY09/MY11 segment. HPV-29 and the several other HPV types XX recently sequenced over this region by Dr. Delius were used as XX type-specific probes to screen DNA for novel genital HPV types. XX The screened DNA was obtained from four recent epidemiological XX studies [1]. Primer regions are annotated in the sequence; XX information in this region is not accurate due to primer XX degeneracy.
